Up is where ideas live, so up is Espil Online. Everything in AIO began as imagination before it became a thing I made: a house, a menu, a journey. The largest of those ideas is a world - Espil Online, the world I am building inside the Cauldron.
The Cauldron is the space itself, entered through espil.online. Inside it sits the World in the Cauldron: real cities rebuilt to be walked, the weather and light of real places, and room for everything the imagination keeps adding. It is not finished, and it is not meant to be finished quickly - a world is the work of a life, and this one is mine.
The Cauldron
The space you enter at espil.online: the container of the world, the way a gate is the container of a house. Everything imagined here is kept inside it.
The space itself
The World in the Cauldron
The world inside the space: cities you enter at street level and walk yourself. Vancouver stands there today, rebuilt from the city's own map data.
The world as it stands
Zealandia
The future land: a game dungeon set on Zealandia, New Zealand's hidden sunken land, starting at Auckland. What is imagined up here becomes ground to walk on the left, and a home down below.
The land still being imagined
The houses on the land below are this imagination made solid - and one day they are the housing layer of this same world, where your website is your house. Imagination first: the rest of AIO is what it looks like when I sit down and make it.
Espil Online is entered at espil.online - the Cauldron is the space, and the world inside it is the imagination at work.
Up - Imagination, Once More
Zealandia - The Future Land
One division further up from Imagination: the room where what is imagined becomes the future land itself. Zealandia is the game dungeon of Espil Online, set on New Zealand's hidden sunken land.
In the wing below, Zealandia is still being imagined. Up here it is drawn as the land it will become: a game dungeon set on Zealandia, the hidden continent beneath the sea, waiting under the water to be walked. Auckland is its starting city, out to the left through Travel - and what is imagined in the wing below becomes ground to walk here.
The sunken land
Zealandia: New Zealand's hidden land under the sea, a continent that sank and kept its shape. The dungeon is set on that land, so the ground itself is the story.
The future land
The starting city
Every dungeon needs a door, and this one's is Auckland, out through the Travel wing to the left - the capital of 1841 to 1865, and the first ground of the game.
Starts at Auckland
The dungeon
What Espil Online imagines, Zealandia plays: the world's ideas given ground, weather and walking. It is the game extension of the world, drawn while the world itself is still being built.
The land still being imagined
Nothing here is finished, and that is the point of the room: it is where the imagination keeps its future. From an idea below to a land under the sea - one more division up, and the idea has ground under it.
Zealandia is the future land of Espil Online - imagined below, walked in its own time.
Left - Travel, Freedom
The game is a journey
Left is freedom: of the four directions, this is the one that leaves the house. It holds the journey - the game that is travel, played on your own two feet.
People ask what the game in AIO is. It is travel. Espil Online is the world I am building inside the Cauldron, and you do not watch it from above: you enter a real city and walk it yourself, at street level, on your own two feet.
I studied tourism because I hold a conviction about it. A screen can introduce a culture, and social channels do their best at sharing one, but they only attempt it. Only visiting a place in person and walking its streets yourself truly shares a culture. So the game is built as traveling: real streets, real building footprints and heights, real weather of a place - a journey first, and a game because the journey is one.
Vancouver
The first city, and my home. The living world of Espil Online today: enter it and walk the downtown I rebuilt from the city's own map data, street by street.
The world as it stands
Auckland - Zealandia
Zealandia, the hidden sunken land under New Zealand, gets its game - and it starts in Auckland, the capital of 1841 to 1865, where the old maps fit the story. The Queen Street corridor is its first ground.
The starting city of Zealandia
The houses below, down on the land, are the other end of this journey. They are the future housing layer of the same world: travel far enough through Espil Online, and one of those houses is your home in it. Imagination above, the journey to the left, the making to the right, home ground below - one service, because in the end they are one world.
Espil Online is entered at espil.online - the Cauldron is the space, and the world inside it is the journey.
Left - Travel, Once More
Auckland - The Starting City
One division further left from Travel: the first ground of Zealandia. The Travel wing holds the journey; this room holds the city the longest journey starts from.
Auckland is where Zealandia begins. It was the capital from 1841 to 1865, and the old maps fit the story: a young port city, the natural door into a hidden continent. The Queen Street corridor is its first ground - the street the game walks first.

The starting city of Zealandia
Queen Street
The corridor is the first ground: the city's main street, walked at street level the way every city in this world is walked - on your own two feet, not watched from above.

Walk it yourself
The conviction behind the Travel wing stands at the door of the game: a screen only attempts to share a culture. Only visiting a place in person and walking its streets yourself truly shares it - so Auckland is built to be walked.

Auckland is the starting city of Zealandia - one division left of the journey, where the walking begins.
AIO - All-in-One Service
One service, four directions and a guide.
I call it AIO, my all-in-one service, and its compass is the old Korean one. Above is imagination: Espil Online, the world I am building. To the left is travel, which is freedom. To the right is production, the things I make as I move forward. Below is the land, where my houses stand. You arrive at the gate; Servo, at the bottom right, is your guide to all of it.
Imagination - Up
Espil Online: the world I am building inside the Cauldron, with Zealandia as its future land. Everything here began as an idea.
Travel, Freedom - Left
The game is a journey: enter a real city and walk it yourself. Vancouver today, Auckland for Zealandia.
Production - Right
The things I make: Kuro Sushi's real menu, all 272 items from the shop's own 2020 document, the Sushi Umi recipe system in format only, and the IMCHOICHOI cart rebuilt as the shop.
The Land - Down
The Espil House Collection on its own ground: four houses with spec sheets, the capsule-room addons that fit them out, and the doors that already open.
Servo - Your Guide
UseDesign Servo, my Peekobot-based chatbot, guides the whole of AIO: ask where anything is, ask about any room, or say a dish name and Servo fills your basket.
The five-direction design
AIO is divided by a simple design strategy of mine: split the sections so each one reads as a page of its own. The centre is the main page. Around it, each direction carries its own value: the left is the past, and freedom; the right is the future, and the decision; the top is dreams, and the tools for them; the bottom is the current state, where things stand now.
Each section can divide again into four directions of its own, so you reach different sections without pressing a lot of buttons. It works the way a catalogue does in an RPG: open one, and the branch of choices on that theme unfolds. I find the tactic extremely self-intuitive - you always know where you are, and where a choice leads.
Move with the arrow keys - the four keys above, which you can also press here - the buttons inside each room, or a swipe on touch screens. Every direction branches once more beyond its wing, so keep going outward. Escape returns to the gate. The demo shop inside AIO is Kuro Sushi; its hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 11:30 am to 10:00 pm.
Right - Production
Production
Production is the direction of moving forward: the things I make. Gathered here is a restaurant's whole working set, made by my hands - the menu I designed for Kuro Sushi, the recipe system I wrote and formatted at Sushi Umi, and the cart I built to sell from it. Two sides of one counter: what the guest orders from, and the system that makes it come out the same every time. The recipe book is shown in format only.
The Menu - Kuro Sushi
The menu I designed for Kuro Sushi in Figma - an original version and a revised "Live" version - rebuilt here as a working order page. It runs on the drag-to-cart I first built for the IMCHOICHOI cosmetics demo in December 2022: drag a dish into the basket, or tap Add. The basket is my cart, rebuilt for sushi. The items and prices below are loaded from the shop's own menu document, 메뉴 1123 (2020).
Drop dishes here - your basketThe basket is empty. Drag a dish in, or tap Add on any dish.
Menu source: the shop's own menu document, 메뉴 1123 (2020). Items and prices are loaded from that document. Where the document lists two servings or sizes, both prices are shown and the basket uses the first listed price. The two Kid's Combo entries are printed without prices in the document, so this page does not invent one for them.
Alongside my design work I cooked part-time on hot foods at Sushi Umi for eight years, and I wrote and formatted the kitchen's recipe book: 21 standardized recipes, Korean and English side by side, every one in the same fixed format. The format is the portfolio piece. The quantities stay in the kitchen, so the document below shows its structure with the contents redacted.
SUSHI UMI RECIPE
Standardized Kitchen Recipe Book
One format for every recipe: name, ingredients in Korean and English, quantity, and method notes. Written at bulk kitchen scale so any cook on the line produces the same result.
These are a working restaurant's trade recipes. I show the document system I built - the categories, the bilingual layout, the discipline - and nothing of the recipes themselves.
The hot dishes on the menu above run on this system: the teriyaki, the katsu, the calamari, the gyoza, the udon.
The Shop - the IMCHOICHOI cart, rebuilt
The IMCHOICHOI cart, rebuilt: the same drag-and-drop basket, now with quantities, totals and a checkout. You can also drop dishes straight onto the table below.

The Recipe System - Production Branch
One division further right from Production: the system behind the counter. The guest side of Production holds the menu and the cart; this room holds the book the kitchen runs on.

The Land - the House Collection
Down is the land, and the land holds the houses. The Espil House Collection, introduced the way a realtor wishes houses could be shown: full listings, spec sheets, and the parts that fit them out. The houses lived scattered on someone else's marketplace once. Their home is here now, introduced in full on my own platform.
Full listings
Every house in the collection, introduced properly: what it is, how it was made, and what comes with it. These pages are the houses' home now - nothing here sends you elsewhere to understand them.
Espil House Collection - No. 1
Hexagon Palace
Collection render - the white circular house form, seen from above.
The first house of the collection: a palace built on a six-sided idea, drawn as a full 3D habitat rather than a picture of one. Like every Espil House it is VR-ready, made to be walked through, and planted with a tree that belongs to this house alone. It was designed to be printed: a self-sustainable home that could one day be manufactured, not just modelled.

Universe
Enscape renders of this house: the courtyard and its red maple, the interior by day, the same room after dark.
The second house, and the one you can already walk into: its courtyard holds a red maple under an open sky, and the rooms wrap around it. Universe is the collection's proof of its own idea - make your website into your house. Its Enscape viewer is live on this site, and it doubles as the sample of where the whole collection is heading: these houses are the future housing layer of Espil.Online.

Every Espil House is planted with a unique tree; this house takes that rule as its whole subject. The tree is not landscaping added at the end - it is the centre the plan is organised around, the living part of a printed house. Tree of Life carries the collection's founding thought furthest: a house that sustains itself, in nature, without disturbing it.

Flower

A house that opens like its namesake. Flower takes the collection's circular, petal-like planning and gives it a garden's character: rooms arranged as growth around a centre, a printed habitat that sits in its landscape the way a plant does. It shares the family traits - VR-ready, printable, its own unique tree - in the softest form the collection has.

The collection holds a fifth house whose original listing was never fully documented. It joins this page when its record is complete - I would rather show four houses properly than five carelessly.
Addon parts and finishes
A house is the shell; these are the rooms and finishes that move in. The Espil Ceil House Addons are capsule rooms and packs that fit the collection's houses - whole rooms, delivered as parts, the way a realtor lists the fittings that come with a home. Credited to Bieclipse Design House.

MROS is the collection's free sample house: an Enscape 3D architectural viewer that lets anyone step inside the idea before anything else. If you walk one house today, the sample is the honest place to start.
Espil began with an obsession: a house I could not stop designing. Minimal, 3D-printed, set down in nature without disturbing it, and powered by its own hydroelectric and solar generation rather than the grid. The Espil House Collection is that obsession made into houses - each one a complete 3D habitat, VR-ready, editable and printable, with a tree that belongs to it alone.
Inside the idea sits a VR chamber that copies a place completely - its temperature, its humidity, its wind - so that being somewhere can be shared, not just shown. The houses and their models are traded inside Espil.Online, and one day they stop being a collection and become an address: the housing layer of the world I am building, where your website is your house and these designs are its first homes.
That is why these pages exist. A collection should be somewhere its maker controls, introduced in full, with its spec sheets and its story attached - not scattered across someone else's marketplace. So the houses live here now.
Provenance: the Espil House Collection and the Espil Ceil House Addons were first minted on OpenSea in 2022. Their home is this page.
